PeopleNet and TMTsoftware are integrating their products to bring efficiencies to fleet maintenance operations through automated data collection and tracking of maintenance information.
The initiative combines PeopleNet's wireless delivery of real-time engine data through PerformX with the maintenance tracking capabilities of TMTsoftware's TRANSMAN fleet management software.
Obtaining vehicle information and engine data requires the vehicle to pull off the road and a technician to manually collect the data. From there, it is transferred into the TRANSMAN system. With the integration, the data is collected, transmitted, and tracked automatically while the vehicle stays on the road, requiring no interaction by maintenance personnel.
During the first phase of the integration, diagnostics transferred from the J1708 data bus include odometer, engine time, and fuel used. Users can set thresholds for each of these variables and can be notified when a milestone is reached. Down the road, integration may include wireless transmission of fault codes, vehicle inspection reports, and automated message notifications.
