Rule training gets new drivers up to speed

Oct 1, 2004 12:00 PM

Thomson Delmar Learning, part of The Thomson Corp, is publishing the only new regulations product endorsed by the Truckload Carriers Association that satisfies the new driver training requirements established by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). Entry-Level Truck Driver Regulation Training presents the “must know” information new drivers need to achieve certification required by the FMCSA ruling that states all drivers hired after July 2003 must pass a test before they are given a license to drive.

This training program (ISBN 1-4018-9936-6, $9.95 list) offers up-to-date information in a single volume, including dedicated coverage of the four key areas in the FMCSA ruling: hours of service, whistleblower guidelines, driver qualifications, and driver health. The user-friendly reading level is compatible with every learning style, including English as a Second Language readers. A 50-question review at the end of the book allows users to test their knowledge, and the Instructor's CD (ISBN 1-4018-9934-x, $9.95 list) provides answers to test questions as well as a certificate that can be printed to show that a student has passed the test.

A Self-Paced Study Guide on CD (ISBN 1-4018-9935-8, $15.95 list) includes all the material from the book as well as test questions and a certificate. For more information or a free catalog, visit www.truckdriving.delmar.com/newregs.aspx, or phone 800-477-3692.
