Service helps users reduce fuel costs

Rand McNally has introduced a new fuel optimization service that integrates with its IntelliRoute mileage and routing product.
The IntelliRoute Fuel module allows motor carriers and shippers to estimate and plan truck routes based on current fuel prices and locations. This downloadable module provides fuel location pricing information, trip planning, and fuel query services that help fleet owners minimize fuel costs and increase profits.
IntelliRoute Fuel is powered in part by technology from FuelAdvice.com, an online planning and execution resource for truckload carriers. Users receive daily updates with current fuel pricing nationwide via the Internet. The fuel plan indicates how much fuel to purchase at each stop along a given route. IntelliRoute Fuel also takes into account available fuel rebates and surcharges.
