Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake LLC, a wheel end and foundation brake joint venture between Bendix Commercial Vehicle Systems LLC and Dana Corp, is providing a wide brake calculator to assist fleets in determining potential savings by upgrading to Bendix wide brake technology. The calculator was co-developed by product experts from Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake and the Roadranger sales and service organization.
The Bendix Wide Brake Savings Calculator is a free tool, available online at www.foundationbrakes.com.
A major benefit of Bendix ES Extended Service wide brakes is their increased amount of wearable lining. This enables cooler running brakes and can help eliminate one or more brake relines over the life of a vehicle.
“The compounding of three key elements: increased brake width, the physical addition of more lining, and the premium, long-life lining materials have helped Bendix ES Extended Service ‘Wide Brakes’ increase brake life on a typical tractor trailer by 25% and on severe-service applications by 50%,” said Jim Clark, product line director-air drum brakes at Bendix Spicer Foundation Brake.
