www.dacservices.comTranSecure operating at port

Mar 1, 2003 12:00 PM

DAC Services has announced that its TranSecure pilot at the Barbours Cut terminal at the Port of Houston TX is now operational. A joint effort with DAC partners MAXIMUS and International RAM, the pilot uses fingerprints captured and stored on smart cards to confirm driver identification and control access to secure areas at the terminal.

Training conducted by DAC concluded with user testing and successful verification of drivers entering the port. Verification at the terminal entrance involves the driver presenting his TranSecure card to security personnel and providing a live fingerprint on a portable biometric reader. A security guard compares the live print with the print template embedded on the TranSecure card to confirm a match before authorizing the driver to enter the area.
