TransCore has implemented two new features in its Web-enabled DAT Partners freight-matching software. These features, Rate Index and SaferSys, are intended to enhance the existing suite of decision-support tools. Freight matching allows carriers and brokers to offer and locate equipment and shipments electronically.

Using Rate Index, customers can access rate information for more than 4 million point-to-point lanes in the United States. By entering the origin, destination, and vehicle type (reefer, van, or flatbed), users receive a range of rates quoted by select carriers. With SaferSys, a tool powered by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, customers can verify a carrier's operating authority, insurance information, inspection history, and safety ratings.
