Video contest aims to show why truck drivers are essential

Oct 1, 2009 8:57 AM

The American Trucking Associations will sponsor a video contest for National Truck Driver Appreciation Week 2009 (NTDAW). The contest aims to celebrate the 3.5 million professional truck drivers delivering life’s essentials across the nation everyday.

ATA is seeking amateur submissions from one to two minutes in length explaining why professional truck drivers are essential. Entries can be produced with simple cell phone or home video cameras—with the emphasis on creativity/message, rather than production values. The winning video will be displayed on ATA’s Truckline.com website.

NTDAW 2009 will take place November 1–7. The deadline for contest submissions is Oct 15, 2009.

Entries can be sent to ntdaw@trucking.org or American Trucking Associations, ATA Image and Outreach, 950 N Glebe Rd, Suite 210, Arlington VA 22203. Submissions also can be posted to YouTube, tagged with “ATATrucksBringIt” and the URL e-mailed to ntdaw@trucking.org.
