Survey looks at aftermarket employee wages

Oct 1, 2002 12:00 PM

The 2002 Employee Compensation Survey, a detailed look at compensation and benefits in the distribution industries, is available from the Automotive Aftermarket Industry Association (AAIA). Aftermarket companies can use the survey to compare their compensation policies with other organizations.

This survey was conducted in conjunction with 32 industry associations and includes compensation data from 1,986 companies, of which 77 were aftermarket distributors. The study compares the compensation and benefits of aftermarket distributors and retailers with other distributors in the United States. It provides up-to-date information on both executive and employee compensation, as well as details on benefit packages, divided into two separate volumes.

Volume I details information from the 77 aftermarket firms that took part in the survey. Where appropriate, the aftermarket figures are compared with the results for the entire multi-industry sample of firms.

Volume II takes advantage of the large multi-industry sample of distributor firms to provide detailed information. This cross-industry report provides compensation breakouts for distribution companies in 22 different sales volume categories ranging from less than $1 million to more than $1 billion. The data is also subdivided to show representative compensation levels for more than 100 detailed geographical regions.

For more information or to order a copy of the survey, phone AAIA at 301-654-6664 or visit www.aftermarket.org.
