C H Robinson records quarterly gains

Third-party logistics company C H Robinson Worldwide Inc reported financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2006.
For the first quarter, gross profits increased 27.9% to $255.1 million, compared with $199.4 million in the 2005 first quarter. Income from operations rose 36.3% to $92.4 million from $67.8 million in the same period of 2005. Net income surged 39.1% to $58.1 million, versus $41.8 million in the 2005 quarter.
Total transportation gross profits advanced 28.3% to $223.0 million in the 2006 first quarter from $173.8 million in the same period of 2005. The transportation gross profit margin has gained 18.3% in 2006 versus 17.4% in the 2005 period.
