Cal-Maine, Green Forest form joint venture

Cal-Maine Foods Inc has signed an agreement with Green Forest Egg Co LLC of Green Forest AR for the formation of a new egg company.
The new company, Green Forest Foods LLC, will be owned and operated jointly by Green Forest Egg Co and Cal-Maine Foods. Green Forest Foods will lease all of the land, buildings, and equipment owned by Green Forest Egg Co that are used in operating its egg business. The operation includes about one million laying hens and pullet growing facilities. Eggs will be marketed primarily to retailers and foodservice distributors in the south central United States.
Based in Jackson MS, Cal-Maine Foods is the largest producer and distributor of fresh shell eggs in the United States and sells most of its shell eggs in approximately 28 US states.
