Coldwall containers show seaworthiness

Jul 30, 2004 11:55 AM, from staff and wire reports

Bellevue WA-based Coldwall Inc has completed its initial Sea-Trial Program for its refrigerated containers in conjunction with New Zealand produce company, Turners & Growers.

The Coldwall refrigerated containers performed without fault during the 35-day voyage, one of the longest ocean voyages for any food processing company.

“We could not be more pleased with the initial results,” said Robert Dale, chief executive officer of Coldwall. “The data from the containers has all been downloaded and will be analyzed over the next few weeks, but the fact that our containers performed perfectly on a difficult route bodes very well for the ultimate results.”

Containers from a competitive company were also part of the test and will be used to provide comparative data.
