Food redistributor Dot Foods Inc, based in Mt Sterling IL, plans to construct an $18 million distribution center in Wayne County, Indiana.

With a 200,000-square-foot capacity, the DC will service Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Kentucky, and western Pennsylvania. Construction likely will be finished by August 2007. Dot, which employs 2,800 workers globally, expects to add 250 employees at the eastern Indiana location.

The company also intends to launch a $10 million expansion of its DC in Williamsport MD and create up to 100 jobs in the next four years. By adding 40,000 square feet of frozen storage space and 63,000 of dry storage capacity, total space at the facility will increase to 257,000 square feet. Completion of this project is expected in spring 2007.
