Latest scoop: Edy's wages war on cancer

Edy’s Grand Ice Cream will offer a free scoop of ice cream June 10 at all Giant Food locations to customers who donate $1 to organizations dedicated to pediatric cancer research and care. On this “Ice Cream Day," Edy’s plans to give out 20,000 pounds of ice cream to customers from 1 to 5 pm.
Customers can choose either a scoop of Edy’s chocolate or vanilla ice cream, and 100% of their donation will go toward fighting childhood cancer. Donations made in Giant Food stores will go to the Children’s Cancer Foundation Inc.
Edy’s has manufactured 100,000 cartons of Triple Winner Neapolitan, a new limited-edition flavor available at Giant Food stores. It will donate 25 cents to pediatric cancer charities for each carton Triple Winner Neapolitan sold. With these ventures, Edy’s hopes to raise $100,000 for pediatric cancer charities.
