Food Innovations reels in a salmon catch

Aug 10, 2004 12:30 PM, from staff and wire reports

Food Innovations Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Innovative Food Holdings Inc, continues to expand its distribution of fresh Alaskan seafood with the naming of Silversword Seafood of Alaska as a new provider of Kodiak Island salmon to the company.

Silversword, a Kodiak AK-based distributor, will fly its fresh salmon catch daily to Food Innovations.

Mark T Patterson, owner and operator of Silversword Seafood of Alaska, said, “Within four hours of calling the fishing vessel Silversword with a confirmed order each day, the fish are filleted, weighed, packed with gel ice, and then loaded on a Piper Tripacer seaplane. The fillets are then flown to shore, where they are ultimately expedited, via FedEx, to the customer.”
