Feb 3, 2005 9:10 AM, from staff and wire reports
Golub Corp intends to construct a new $15 million frozen foods distribution center adjacent to its Albany NY headquarters to replace two facilities in Colonie and Waterford NY.
This 152,000-square-foot plant will serve Golub’s Price Chopper supermarket chain of 107 stores in New York and five surounding states.
All 72 jobs in the Colonie and Waterford plants will be transferred to the new center, and 10 to 20 new jobs will be created in the next two to three years.
Construction bids will be taken in late February or early March. When the center is complete, Golub will transfer ownership to the real estate developer Galesi Group, owner of the industrial park where the facility is being built, and enter into a 25-year lease with Galesi.
