Gorton's ready to land King & Prince

Gorton’s Inc, a wholly owned subsidiary of Nippon Suisan (USA) Inc, has entered into a merger agreement to acquire King & Prince Seafood Corp. Based in Brunswick GA, King & Prince Seafood provides frozen shrimp and seafood products for the foodservice market. Terms of the transaction have not been released. The transaction is subject to the approval of the shareholders of King & Prince Seafood and all required regulatory filings, and is expected to close in late June or early July.

A 156-year-old company based in Gloucester MA, Gorton's provides frozen seafood products to United States and Canadian retail markets. It is part of the global links network of Nippon Suisan Kaisha Ltd, a harvester and processor of seafood products with operations throughout Asia, South America, Europe, and New Zealand.
