Kahiki moving into new frozen food plant

May 4, 2004 12:30 PM, from staff and wire reports

Kahiki Foods plans to move into a new food processing plant in July. This facility is in Gahanna OH near the Port Columbus International Airport.

Michael Tsao, president and chief executive officer, said, “We are in the final stages of completing what we believe will be one of the largest Asian frozen food plants in the United States. The new facility will process entrees, egg rolls, appetizers, rice, and sauces and will be able to handle up to $75 million in sales.”

The company, which acquired the building for $2.2 million in December 2002, will spend about $7 million on the project. This property contains another 14 acres for future use.
