Jun 7, 2004 12:31 PM, from staff and wire reports

Koch Foods, a Chicago IL-based poultry company, plans to spend $19 million to expand its Chattanooga TN-area processing facility. This is expected to create 60 new jobs.

Expansion plans consist of renovating a building and boosting production at the Chattanooga facility, expanding the Henagar AL hatchery operation, and upgrading computers at the Tiftonia TN feed mill.

Koch says the area farming community likely will invest nearly $30 million to construct poultry houses to support the project.
