Kraft to shut down Wisconsin pizza plant

Apr 10, 2006 9:01 AM, from staff and wire reports

Kraft Foods Inc plans to cease production at its frozen pizza manufacturing plant in Sussex WI in March 2007, a move that will terminate 330 employee positions.

Northfield IL-based Kraft is moving the plant's production to two other frozen pizza operations in Wisconsin. The 141,500-square-foot Sussex plant produces Tombstone and DiGiorno pizzas and includes a 50,000-square-foot warehouse.

Kraft will provide severance packages and outplacement assistance to affected workers and will supply medical benefits for six months after termination.
