Laura Secord is sold to Gordon Brothers

Paragon Capital Partners, a merchant banking firm advising Archibald Candy Corp on its bankruptcy and divestiture, has completed the sale of Laura Secord to Gordon Brothers Group LLC. Laura Secord is one of Canada’s top marketers and retailers of scooped ice cream, boxed chocolates, and other confectionery items.
After a spirited bidding process, Gordon Brothers emerged as the winning bidder, topping a stalking-horse bid previously submitted by M&M Meat Shops, Canada’s largest retailer of specialty frozen foods.
