Marten prospers in 2Q, first half of 2006

Marten Transport Ltd, the Mondovi WI-based temperature-controlled carrier, announced its financial and operating results for the quarter and six months ended June 30, 2006.
For the quarter ended June 30, 2006, operating revenue increased 16.9% to $131.9 million from $112.8 million for the 2005 quarter. For the six months ended June 30, 2006, operating revenue rose 16.6% to $251.4 million from $215.7 million for the 2005 period.
Net income for the quarter ended June 30, 2006, advanced 11.5% to $7.5 million from $6.8 million for the 2005 quarter. For the six months ended June 30, 2006, net income gained 8.8% to $12.6 million from $11.6 million for the 2005 period.
