Marten Transport returns to the ATA fold

May 19, 2005 10:03 AM, from staff and wire reports

Refrigerated carrier Marten Transport Ltd has rejoined the American Trucking Associations (ATA) after a four-year absence.

“ATA is working on critical industry issues that matter a great deal to our company,” Randy Marten, president of the Mondovi WI-based carrier, said. “Ongoing ATA initiatives, impending ‘make or break’ legislative and regulatory issues, and the opportunity to speak with one voice to ensure the future of trucking strongly influenced our decision.”

Bill Graves, ATA president and chief executive officer, said, “It’s fitting that Marten Transport take its place among the leaders of the trucking industry. The company has an important hands-on role to play in advancing the interests of ATA motor carrier members and the entire trucking industry.”

Marten Transport has long-standing relationships with other industry advocacy groups including the Truckload Carriers Association, Wisconsin Motor Carriers Association, and Georgia Motor Trucking Association.
