Slumping 4Q profits impact Marten’s tally

Marten Transport Ltd announced its financial and operating results for the quarter and year ended Dec 31, 2006.
For the fourth quarter of 2006, the Mondovi WI-based refrigerated carrier’s operating revenue increased 5.0% to $131.7 million from $125.4 million for the same quarter of 2005. For the year ended Dec 31, 2006, operating revenue rose 12.8% to $518.9 million from $460.2 million for 2005.
Net income for fourth quarter 2006 decreased 27.0% to $5.2 million from $7.1 million for the same quarter of 2005. For the full-year 2006, net income fell 2.2% to $24.5 million from $25.1 million for 2005.
