Nash Finch Co overhauls its organization

Aug 3, 2006 8:53 AM, from staff and wire reports

Nash Finch Co has announced several organizational changes. The food distribution company is creating a companywide Supply Chain Management group, which will be directed by Jeffrey Poore as executive vice-president of supply chain management. He was previously senior vice-president–military.

Certain functions previously part of the company’s food distribution business will be transitioned into Supply Chain Management, including warehouse operations, transportation, and procurement functions.

The company’s military distribution business will be organized within Supply Chain Management, leveraging efficiencies between the two businesses. The business will be led by senior vice-president Edward Brunot, who will report to Poore. Brunot spent three years at AmeriCold Logistics, where he was senior vice-president of operations.

Nash Finch is consolidating all customer-related activities, such as merchandising and sales, into its Food Distribution group. This enhancement, along with the transition of certain food distribution logistics into Supply Chain Management, will enable Food Distribution to sharpen its focus on growing sales, enhancing customer service, and improving retail execution.
