Cargill Meat Solutions Corp (CMS), a wholly owned subsidiary of Cargill Inc, has signed an agreement with Nistevo Corp. CMS will implement Nistevo’s transportation management system across all of its business units in order to provide load optimization, shipment execution, and full visibility of all in-transit inventories.
The Nistevo Network will soon replace several legacy systems that offered limited connectivity to CMS’ transportation providers and customers, as well as hindering visibility across its business units. As the largest user of truckload capacity within Cargill, CMS has more than 180,000 annual truckload shipments.
“Operating more than 30 plants and distribution centers, our logistics department was challenged to become more efficient across all divisions while improving our overall customer service,” said Jon Meier, vice-president of transportation and logistics for CMS. “Nistevo offered the best solution for CMS with its extensive network of consumer goods manufacturers and retailers, many of whom also use refrigerated equipment.”
