Old Orchard branches out to East Coast

Sep 29, 2004 11:41 AM, from staff and wire reports

The East Coast is now getting a taste of the Midwest as juice maker Old Orchard Brands expands its distribution to Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Many of the Sparta MI-based company’s juices from frozen concentrate are provided at grocery stores and food marts. Also available are 100% fruit juices, fruit juice cocktails, and a line of low-carbohydrate fruit juice cocktails in 64-ounce plastic bottles.

Old Orchard previously had limited distribution along the East Coast, as other national brands and regional juice producers captured most sales there. Two years ago, the firm began aggressively expanding into new markets and has secured distribution deals with Target Stores, Wal-Mart, and several other major retailers, in addition to regional retailers in more than 30 states.
