Aug 17, 2006 9:11 AM, from staff and wire reports

SeaPak Shrimp Co will offer Certified Wild American Shrimp in its product lines nationwide beginning in December 2006. The company plans for nationwide distribution through its club and retail customers. SeaPak frozen shrimp is one of seven food brands owned by the Rich-SeaPak Corp.

The company joins more than 50 organizations that are part of the Certified Wild American Shrimp program.

The Wild American Certification Program ensures that warm-water, wild-caught shrimp from United States coastal waters meet a high standard of quality and consistency. Shrimp that meet these standards are labeled with the Certified Wild American Shrimp mark. Certification is available to harvesters, processors, distributors, retailers, grocers, and restaurateurs. Wild American Shrimp Inc administers the program.
