Covenant shifts into high gear financially

Covenant Transport Inc, the Chattanooga TN-based truckload carrier, has announced financial and operating results for the fourth quarter and year ended Dec 31, 2003.For the quarter, total revenue increased 4% to $152.2 million from $146.7 million in 2002. Net income climbed 23% to $4.1 million from $3.4 million in 2002.
For the year, total revenue rose 3% to $582.5 million from $564.4 million in 2002. Net income surged 47% to $12.2 million from $8.3 million in 2002.
