Dean Foods sells operations in Puerto Rico

Dean Foods Company, Dallas TX, has agreed to sell dairy operations in Puerto Rico to Grupo Gloria for $122 million in cash. Grupo Gloria is conglomerate based in Peru. Dean operations in Puerto Rico include Suiza Dairy Corporation, Suiza Fruit Corporation, Neva Manufacturing Corp, Garrido y Compania, and Garido Alto Grande Corp. The sale should close before the end of 2002.
