Fresh Brands delivers record sales in 3Q

Fresh Brands Inc, the Sheboygan WI-based supermarket retailer and grocery wholesaler, has reported record net sales of $152.6 million for third-quarter 2003, a 7.6% increase over 2002's third-quarter sales of $141.9 million. Net earnings for the third quarter of 2003 were $1.02 million, a decrease of 29.4% from earnings of $1.44 million for the same period in 2002.For the first three quarters of 2003, net sales were a record $492.5 million, a 4.1% increase over sales of $472.9 million for the same period of the prior year. Net earnings for the first three quarters of 2003 were $4.59 million, a 12.9% drop from net earnings of $5.27 million for the same period in 2002.
