Friendly Ice Cream dishes up record income

Friendly Ice Cream Corp, which produces and distributes ice cream for more than 3,500 supermarkets and retail locations, has reported record net income of $5.3 million for the quarter ended Sept 28, 2003. This is an increase of 52% when compared with the net income of $3.5 million reported for the same period in 2002.Net income for the nine months ended Sept 28, 2003, was $6.9 million, identical to net income for the same period a year ago.
Total company revenues rose $5.0 million, or 1.1%, to $444.7 million for the nine months ended Sept 28, 2003, from $439.7 million for the comparable period in 2002.
