Ingles registers higher sales, lower income

Ingles Markets Inc, based in Asheville NC, recorded net sales of $534.3 million for fiscal 2004's first quarter ended Dec 27, 2003, a 7.9% increase from the first quarter of fiscal 2003.Net income for the December 2003 quarter was $1.8 million, or $0.08 per diluted share, compared with $3.2 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, for the December 2002 quarter.
