Marten Transport sees loads of income in 2Q

Mondovi WI-based Marten Transport Ltd’s net income rose to $3.5 million for the quarter ended June 30, 2003, a 24.5% climb from $2.8 million for the same quarter of 2002. For the six months ended June 30, 2003, net income surged 39.8% to $4.9 million from $3.5 million for the same period in 2002.Operating revenue for the refrigerated truckload carrier increased 13.7% to $84.2 million in second-quarter 2003 versus $74.0 million for the same quarter of 2002. For the six months ended June 30, 2003, operating revenue advanced 15.1% to $163.5 million from $142.0 million for the same period of 2002.
