C H Robinson makes the Dow Jones grade

Third-party logistics company C H Robinson Worldwide will replace Roadway Corp in the Dow Jones Transportation Average, effective after the close of trading Dec 11, 2003.

For 2002, C H Robinson had $3.3 billion in gross revenues, 2.7 million shipments delivered for 15,000-plus customers globally, 20,000-plus United States motor carriers under contract, (10,000 in Europe), approximately 3,800 employees, and more than more than 150 offices worldwide. It is traded on NASDAQ under the symbol CHRW.

Roadway is being dropped from the DJTA because of its merger with Yellow Corp.

The Dow Jones Transportation Average is an index consisting of 20 stocks in the transportation business, including trucking companies, railroads, and airlines.
