TLC purchases TSI from TWL Corp

Feb 19, 2002 12:00 PM, Gary Macklin

Total Logistic Control of Zeeland MI has purchased TSI, the truckload carrier arm of TWL Corp of Erie PA. TSI is a regional carrier that concentrates its refrigerated and dry van services on the food industry. The acquisition includes 39 tractors, 118 trailers, and 18,500 sq ft of terminal and maintenance space. Substantially all TSI employees will make the transition to TLC ownership. The primary freight lanes served by TSI complement the TLC network of motor carriage, warehousing, and third party logistics services, says Chris Kozak, TLC vice-president of transportation. The acquisition provides additional capacity for service in PA, NY, and the northeast corridor, he says. With the addition of TSI, the fleet at Total Logistic Control totals 350 tractors and 560 trailers. TLC terminals are located in Kalamazoo MI and La Vergne TN.
