PowerRush Platinum AGM battery
cranks up the power where needed

Jul 13, 2009 10:23 AM

The new PowerRush Platinum AGM battery from Carrier Transicold provides higher performance and significantly longer life than conventional 12-volt wet-cell batteries.

Available through Carrier Transicold dealers, the maintenance-free PowerRush Platinum battery delivers high power when and where the user needs it most. Absorbed glass mat (AGM) technology provides 1,150 CCA (cold cranking amps) of high starting power, deep cycling ability, and superior cold starting performance. At –4° F (–20° C), the pure lead PowerRush Platinum AGM retains 75% more power than typical Group 31 wet cell batteries.

The 99.99%-pure lead construction of the PowerRush battery maximizes the sustained battery charge, helping ensure that the battery will reliably start a refrigerated unit even if the unit has been idle for extended periods. Compressed glass mats are packed tightly between many extremely thin plates, ensuring high vibration and shock resistance. The high number of plates gives high surface area, which translates into high power.

This battery’s fast charge acceptance reduces engine run time for recharging, potentially reducing fuel consumption when Carrier refrigeration units are used in “Start-Stop” mode.

The PowerRush Platinum battery’s rugged design helps it withstand extreme vibration and prevents terminal and battery compartment corrosion. Testament to its longevity, the PowerRush Platinum battery includes a four-year full replacement warranty backed by Carrier Transicold dealers throughout the United States and Canada.

In addition to powering refrigeration units, the PowerRush Platinum battery can be used in many other Group 31 applications, according to Jason Forman, senior product development manager, Carrier Transicold Performance Parts Group.
