Super 80 interior trailer lamps
activate when motion is sensed

Truck-Lite’s recent release of the Super 80 LED interior trailer lamp with IR (infrared) motion sensor uses advanced technology to boost efficiency for trailer operators.
The interior dome is similar to Truck-Lite’s 80251C, while offering the ability to be activated when motion is recognized, thus eliminating a switch.
Jay Davenport, Truck-Lite’s national sales director for the body market, said, “By adding an IR motion sensor to this application, we are providing a hands-off service to assist in the trailer operator’s daily routine.”
The LED Dome’s IR sensor, which compares changes in heat coupled with motion, can sense movement up to 10 feet away from the lamp surface. The lamp is designed to stay on through five minutes of inactivity before automatically shutting off, saving operators power consumption.
This lamp is composed of a die-cast aluminum housing and a polycarbonate lens. Its near-flush mount design is 1.1" thick, compared with 1-5/8" fluorescents, and leaves more clearance for loads or loading equipment. Retrofit or replacements are quick and easy with a recommended cut-out of 16"x 4". A new potting material completely encapsulates the LEDs’ circuit board to ensure resistance to shock, vibration, and fluids from cleaning activities.
The Super 80 will function at full brightness from 7 to 16 volts. Standard fluorescent lamps don’t work below 10 volts. This lamp’s 10 LEDs will reach full brightness at 9.5 volts, thus eliminating problems of low voltage.
