XATA adds temperature monitoring services

Sep 17, 2004 11:41 AM, from staff and wire reports

XATA Corp, provider of onboard fleet management systems for private fleet transportation, will begin offering temperature monitoring services as an integral part of its product suite. XATA intends to target trucking fleets that operate refrigerated trailers to ensure product quality and freshness.

The wireless temperature monitoring system, developed by FreshLoc Technologies Inc, tracks the temperature in refrigerated trailers, delivers reports to operations and transportation managers’ desktops, and automatically generates e-mail alerts for potentially unacceptable conditions.

The temperature monitoring system uses wireless sensors that continuously transmit temperature, humidity, and other key operating data via a secure Internet connection, ensuring optimal environmental conditions for freshness. Using the system eliminates manual tracking, reduces energy costs, prevents spoilage, and provides every fleet with the data required to back their claims of freshness and quality.
