The Global Cold Chain Alliance has been formed to bring together partners to facilitate communication, networking, and education for the perishable food industry.
This organization was begun at the annual convention of the International Association of Refrigerated Warehouses (IARW), World Food Logistics Organization (WFLO), and International Refrigerated Transportation Association (IRTA). The three groups and the International Association for Cold Storage Construction (IACSC) are the four Core Partners of the alliance.
Bill Hudson serves as president and chief executive officer of the four Core Partner organizations. He said the Global Cold Chain Allianceís goals include:
- Build relationships and networking for business and trade across the cold chain, giving members greater exposure, relationships, and opportunities.
- Integrate international cold chain organizations with which the alliance is forming partnerships, thus aiding communication and the exchange of information and expertise.
Besides the Core Partners, the alliance will include groups that represent refrigerated transportation, cold storage, retail, processing, specific commodities, government, and educational institutions.
Based in Alexandria VA, the alliance has offices in Europe, South Asia, China, and Latin America. For more details, access www.gcca.org or phone 703-373-4300.
