Blue Tree Systems Inc, a provider of trailer tracking, reefer monitoring, and fleet management systems, announced that convenience store operator Kwik Trip Inc has selected its latest R:COM temperature management system for the fleet of more than 150 multi-temp delivery vehicles operated by its subsidiary Convenience Transportation LLC.
The latest Blue Tree Systems technology upgrades and complements the yard management system in place at the company for the past seven years. It provides greater visibility and quality control on each delivery and leads to enhanced product safety and a reduction in the potential for lost cargo incidents.
Blue Tree has been Kwik Trip’s preferred provider of temperature management systems since 2005, when it adopted the first-generation Blue Tree RF Yard Reefer Management system. KwikTrip decided to upgrade to Blue Tree’s latest temperature management system, the cellular R:COM platform, in order to monitor temperatures in its three-compartment multi-temp trailers at five-minute intervals.
At Kwik Trip, the R:COM system is providing accurate temperature data from Thermo King and Carrier refrigeration units. Information provided that is essential to maintaining product integrity includes temperature set point, return air, and alarm notifications. R:COM allows Kwik Trip’s managers to view live and historical temperature data and share that information with food safety agencies and customers.
Headquartered in La Crosse WI and founded in 1965, family-owned Kwik Trip operates more than 400 stores under the Kwik Trip, Kwik Star, Hearty Platter, and Tobacco Outlet Plus names throughout Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Iowa. The company’s fleet of 150 vehicles travels more than 18 million miles annually in the three-state area.
