Jungheinrich offers green lift truck

Aug 1, 2008 12:00 PM

New from Jungheinrich Lift Truck Corporation is its EFG 425-430 AC electric four-wheel counterbalanced 6,000-pound capacity lift truck. A “green” alternative to conventional internal combustion (IC) trucks, it has whisper-quiet, emission-free operation.

The truck, which has the company's three-phase AC technology to power the drive and hydraulic pump motors, provides up to 15% greater energy efficiency than trucks with shunt-wound DC motors, so there is longer operation per battery charge.

For more energy savings, the truck's solid-state electric braking system feeds energy back to the battery when the accelerator is released.

Along with a very low center of gravity that helps to improve the truck's stability and residual capacity, and a long wheelbase that ensures stable handling and smooth travel, the EFG 425-430 has Jungheinrich's Curve Control system which automatically reduces the truck's travel speed when cornering.

Fatigue-free comfort features include an ergonomically designed operator display, floating compartment that cushions the operator from travel shocks and vibrations, and a clear view mast and fork carriage that provides excellent visibility to the load and aisle.
