BJ's realizes solid income, sales gains

BJ’s Wholesale Club Inc reported net income of $30.5 million for its second quarter ended July 30, 2005. In 2004’s second quarter, the company had net income of $28.0 million.
Net income for the first half of 2005 was $49.1 million, compared with net income of $44.1 million for the same period of 2004.
Net sales for the second quarter rose 7.7% to $1.98 billion, versus $1.84 billion in the second quarter a year ago. For the first half of 2005, net sales totaled $3.75 billion, an increase of 8.7% over the comparable period a year earlier.
