Exel obtains supply chain contract in UK

Aug 5, 2004 12:26 PM, from staff and wire reports

Exel, the United Kingdom-based supply chain management company, will offer temperature-controlled supply and distribution services to Nisa-Today’s. A consortium for independent wholesale and retail firms, Nisa-Today’s has 3,500 stores in southern England. Exel also will manage a new, 80,000-square-foot multi-temperature distribution center in southeastern England.

This new distribution center will boost the capacity of Nisa-Today’s UK transport and distribution network and supports the extension of its Premier Service deliveries in Great Britain from three to six days each week.

The volume Exel is handling for Nisa-Today’s will climb by 11 million cases annually to 37 million by year-end 2006.
