New facility boosts USCS cooling capacity

United States Cold Storage Inc (USCS), a subsidiary of the Swire Group, has added a new facility in Tulare CA. Designated Tulare North, this building has about 140,948 square feet of dry and refrigerated storage space.
Offering 2.7 million cubic feet of storage capacity, the refrigerated portion can handle temperatures down to –20° F.
The new dry storage capacity is 796,135 cubic feet. Fully racked, the facility has 9,592 pallet positions in the freezer and 2,400 in dry storage. A 50-foot-wide refrigerated truck dock contains 12 loading doors, and a 45-ft-wide refrigerated rail dock has four loading doors.
With this expansion, USCS's total capacity in Tulare is now about 10 million cubic feet of refrigerated space and 3 million of dry space.
