Aleco door systems save
energy, aid compliance

May 4, 2009 11:56 AM

Aleco is helping foodservice industry professionals comply with the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007, which became law January 1, 2009. Under this legislation, new walk-in coolers and freezers installed in the United States that have a floor area of less than 3,000 square feet are required to use “interior strip curtains or swinging doors” to increase energy efficiency.

The firm’s Clear-Flex II strip door with patented MaxBullet mounting hardware and the Clear-Valu ImpacDor are quick and easy to install and efficiently meet this federal requirement. Installation of a strip door also can extend the life of refrigeration equipment by maintaining the unit’s constant temperature, reducing infiltration of warm air by as much as 93%, and reducing harmful frost accumulation on evaporators. This saves on equipment repair and replacement costs, lowers utility bills by reducing energy usage, and aids the environment. In many areas, using strip doors in a walk-in qualifies for an energy-saving incentive from the local utility company.

Complete information on the Clear-Flex II strip door system and the Clear-Valu ImpacDor, as well as all of Aleco’s door systems, is available at www.aleco.com, by calling 1-800-633-2130, or by e-mail at info@aleco.com.
