Merchants Terminal Corporation, the 82-year-old Maryland based provider of temperature-controlled logistics, has changed its name to MTC Logistics.
Since its establishment in 1928, the company has provided logistics services to the public and to the food industry. Once solely a provider of cold storage lockers, Merchants Terminal Corp was relied on by local merchants and processors to warehouse their products. Today, MTC Logistics is a wide-ranging temperature-controlled logistics company that services two-thirds of the US population and reaches markets worldwide.
“We continue to add to the breadth and depth of our logistics services, and the new name, MTC Logistics, is a clear signal to our clients and the market, of our evolution as a company.” said Harry Halpert, president. “From our transportation division MLogistics to our core refrigerated warehousing business, we deliver substantial benefits to our existing and prospective clients. We continue to invest in the industry as evidenced by the recent opening of a state-of-the-art international distribution center at the Port of Baltimore’s Seagirt Marine Terminal, and are positioned for stable growth for years to come.”
MTC Logistics owns and operates four refrigerated international distribution centers within Maryland and Delaware. Through its transportation subsidiary, MLogistics, MTC Logistics offers refrigerated LTL and FTL inland transportation to major retail and foodservice providers. The company also provides port drayage services, and all of MTC Logistics’ customer activity can be accessed via the Internet using MVision, the firm’s proprietary web visibility system.
