To meet increasing cold storage demand for the Tri-State area, Preferred Freezer Services has broken ground on its second facility in Elizabeth NJ. This will mark its sixth fully automated warehouse, the companyís third in the United States.
Adjacent to the first Elizabeth facility built in 2008, the new warehouse will supplement continued growth of cold storage needs for major frozen food suppliers, importers, manufacturers, distributors, and wholesalers.
Multiple 60-foot cranes, capable of working within low temperatures and complete darkness, will handle high-volume inventory with accuracy using aisle-changing technology. To maintain inventory integrity, bar-code scanning will track product inventory through its life cycle as it moves and is stored throughout the 6.6 million-cu-ft warehouse.
Upon completion of the new Elizabeth facility in 2011, the company will have a portfolio of 28 locations including its newest fully automated international facilities in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam that opened in 2010 and Lingang Park in Shanghai, China, scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2011.
Preferred Freezer Services operates with facilities in New York/New Jersey, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Texas, Virginia, Vietnam, and China. For more details, visit www.PreferredFreezer.com.
