RedPrairie Corporation, a productivity software provider, announced that Sargento Foods Inc has successfully upgraded to a new version of RedPrairie Warehouse Management.

“RedPrairie’s Warehouse Management solution has been critical to our success for over five years,” said Dennis Roehrborn, vice-president of logistics at Sargento Foods. “By upgrading the solution in our Plymouth WI distribution center and satellite plants in Kiel and Hilbert, we are better equipped to exceed customer expectations for accurate order fulfillment and on-time delivery. With the support of RedPrairie’s project team, we were able to complete the upgrade with minimal downtime and disruption. Moreover, the implementation was a success, exceeding our target goal for productivity within the Plymouth distribution center.”

The Warehouse Management system offers a series of functionality tailored to the food and beverage industry, including product rotation; freshness, date, and lot controls; catch weight; and variable aging support. The company was recently named the top Warehouse Management systems vendor for the food and beverage industry in ARC Advisory Group’s Warehouse Management Systems Worldwide Outlook report.

Founded in 1953 in Plymouth, Sargento manufactures, packages, and markets natural shredded, sliced, and snack cheeses, cheese appetizers, ingredients, and sauces. Sargento is owned and operated by the Gentine family.
