Flint River ready for some serious chilling

Dec 1, 2006 12:00 PM

Flint River Services has completed a new 250,000-square-foot refrigerated warehouse near Rincon GA. The $20 million facility can blast-freeze more than a million pounds of food to 0° F in 24 hours and also can freeze perishables to -50° F.

Around 100 new employees will be hired at the plant, which will almost double the 110 positions created at the industrial park in the past two years.

Albany GA-based Flint River intends to expand both blast-freezing and refrigerated storage at the Effingham County Industrial Authority park site.

The new investment boosts Flint River operations capacity to 1.5 million-plus square feet. The firm also has operations in Albany and Unadilla GA.
